LOCAL ATTRACTIONS

The area surrounding Bollingham House is full of interesting and challenging places to see and visit. Your time in this area will go so fast you will need to come back again to visit this 'forgotten county' set in the foothills of the Welsh mountains - God's land.

• Walking on Offa's Dyke - only 1 ½ miles from Bollingham
• Close by is the Mortimers Trail, a 30 mile walk through beautiful rolling countryside of North Herefordshire to Shropshire.
• Hereford Cathedral with the famous Mappa Mundi and chained library.
• Visit Hay on Wye, the famous book town with its renown Literary Festival held in May.
• Visit the Black and White villages of Herefordshire and admire the 14th century timbered houses of Weobley, Pembridge, Eardisley and Eardisland.
• Visit the architecturally beautiful Georgian town of Ludlow and its castle.
• Visit the nearby National Trust Properties of Berrington Hall, near Leominster and Croft Castle at Shobdon.
• There are numerous outstanding gardens including the now famous Hampton Court at Leominster, recently restored to its former glory of parterres and water systems: Hergest Croft, internationally known for its fine collection of trees, rhododendrons and azaleas - Arrow Cottage at Weobley, a plantsman's garden; Bryan's Ground, a 3 acre Edwardian garden.
• Walk the Brecon Beacons.

• Golf at Kington Golf Course - the highest golf course in England.
• Foodies will enjoy some of the outstanding restaurants to be found in Herefordshire including the Michelin star 'Stagg' at Titley, ( 5 miles away); a further 3 restaurants in Ludlow with Michelin stars and the many delightful local pubs offering excellent food using some of the great local produce found in the county.
• Fishing on the rivers of the Wye and Arrow can be arranged.
• Pony trekking in the mountains.
• Cycles and mountain bikes can be hired locally.
• Flying/gliding is available at Shobdon Airport just 7 miles away.
• Go-Karting can be found at Weobley and Kinsham.
• Visit the Red Kite breeding and feeding centre.
• Small Breed farm only 1 miles away is ideal for small children.
